Tangoheart is the premier Argentine tango ensemble in the Northwest. The quartet is dedicated to the performance of traditional tango from the golden age of tango and of the modern tango including the music of Astor Piazzolla.
Tangoheart is an impressive line up of musicians with Andy Carr, the dynamic Northwest jazz, classical and tango pianist and musical arranger for the Blue Street Singers, Todd Gowers, the Seattle star bassist of the Paramount and, 5th Ave Theaters and bass professor at Seattle Pacific University, and the versatile violinist, Eugene Bazhanov, trained at the Music College and Conservatory in Yekaterinburg, Russia and presently playing with the Seattle Symphony, Pacific Northwest Ballet and Teatro Zinzanni.
The group is directed by bandoneonista Bertram Levy who first heard Piazzolla in 1987 and since, has devoted himself to the study of the tango and its emblematic instrument the bandoneon. In 2005 he moved to Buenos Aires where he studies at the Conservatorio de Manuel de Falla with Rodolfo Daluisio.
